Reflections on assignment 3 and 4
First of all I like to say that I really enjoyed these two assignments. It was very fun to create my own assignment and also to see what kinds of assignment the other students have made.
My assignment was to select an article that is useful for our future role as a teacher and to write a summary of the text. I made this assignment because it’s important to know how to select the most important facts in a text.
The student who did my assignment did a great work. She chose an article about Fun projects teching geography for kids which were a very interesting article.
I chose Linda G:s assignment. Write a short summary of an article, a movie or a book that you like or don’t like. I chose to do a summary of the movie Stand By Me. This was a good assignment where you practise to retell a movie in a short version.

Assignment 4

Summary of a movie.
Stand by Me
Stand by me is a movie (based on a short story by Stephen King) of four twelve year old boys who are living in a small-town in the year 1959. The four boys Teddy, Vern, Gordie and Chris are best friends. They are very different characters and they have different kind of problems and relations to their families. Gordie’s older brother Denny recently died in a car accident and his parents have handled that very bad. All the time they are asking Gordie why he isn’t more like his brother and so on. Chris has an alcoholic father who beats him all the time. Teddy’s father is a disturbed war veteran who has abused him all his life. Vern is the chubby one that everybody makes a fool of. Vern is very frightened of his older brother that always pushes him around and Vern spend a lot of time hiding.
One day Vern heard his older brother describe the location where the dead body of a missing boy from the town that everyone had been looking for actually lies. This information makes Vern feel important and he tells the other boys about the news. They decide to go and find the body and on the way there a lot of things happen. When they arrived at the dead body they discover that they are not the only ones who’ve been looking for it.
I have seen this movie a few times and I think it’s really good but also sad. I choose this movie because I think it contains many interesting and important topics for example, death, family relationships, friendship, bullying and curiosity in adult life.

Assignment 3
Since all of us are going to work as teachers we are supposed to create our own written proficiency assignment this week.
I have decide that my assignment this week is going to be a relections about an article.
Instructions:
Choose an aritcle on your own that you might find important in your future role as a teacher. It can be almost everything,things you wants to have knowledge about, for example, different types of disabilities or bullying. Read it thrue and think about the content of the article and write it down as a reflection with 200-250 words. What was the article about? What did you like about it and what did you not like? What did you learn and what knowledge do you bring?
This exercise will practise to summarize longer texts and also to think about important things that you are going to deal with as a teacher!

Assignment 2
The big train problem
If you are going from Karlstad to Stockholm by train and If you have the possiblity to book the ticket early you can be lucky and find a ticket for a good and sometimes a very good price. If you you dont have that possibility it can be a very expensive journey. And in todays society many people live a hectic life and can´t plan their journeys weeks before. Of course it´s ok to have a good price for those who can plan their journey a long time before departure, exactly as they do in almost every travel industries. But however I think that the differences between the ticket prices are way too much. For example on a journey with the morning train from Karlstad to Stockholm with X2000 the cheepest tickets were just over 100 kronor and the most expensive ones were almost 2000 kronor, both in second class.
The government talks about how they care about the enviroment and that people should be more environmentally friendly. For example the government want us to leave the car home and to skip going by plane and go by train instead. But when it is that expensive to go by train as it is today and when its sometimes even cheaper to take a cab from Karlstad to Stockholm its going to be hard. I think that most people rather go by car beacuse its easier in some ways or by plane beacuse of the short travelling time and of course because of the cheaper price.
So I definitely think that SJ which is owned by the goverment has to do something about the prices if they wants to have more peolpe going with them. If they succeed with this they will get more satisfied customers and a cleaner environment. Humans and nature together in harmony. Just think about it. Think. Think hard.

The Royal Court announced today that princess Madeleine of Sweden has broke off her engagement to her long-time fiance Jonas Bergström. The reason of the break off is Jonas Bergström affair with the Norweigen girl Tora Uppstroem berg. The court has asked for the media to leave the princess and her former fiance alone.
Informal
I heard on the news today that Madeleine and Jonas have broke up. The reason of the separation is that Jonas cheated on Madeleine with a norweigen chick. In every paper or newschannel we can here about the news and I think its too much,god...Im so tired of it! Actually I dont care that much but about this but I still think that media should leave them alone.

I got there and it was FREEEZING. Which made me even more grateful that so many people came out to Holt Renfrew to hang with me. Its important to me to do these instores because it gives me a chance to come face to face with everyone that has supported my dreams and get to thank them personally.
So thanks Montreal for giving me such a freezing - I mean warm welcome.

And that rescue, undertaken by the previous administration, was deeply offensive but it was a necessary thing to do, and it succeded in stabilizing the financial system and helping to avert that depression.

Reflections
I think that the differences between these two texts are pretty clear. I think that you clearly can see that the formal text is more correct written than the informal one and also the use of vocabuary. In the informal text you can see that the author is not that concered about a correct vocabulary wich is common in blogs. You can also see that the informal text is more written as a every day speech. An informal lanuage is also used in emails and letter to friends. A formal lanuage is used in business letters, contracts, academis textbooks and so on.
